Computer service provider Knowledge I.T. says it is on the road to more success after securing a managed services contract with the Springfield Motor Group.
In the six-figure deal the Washington firm will look after the dealer’s I.T. network and service support requirements in all its North-East sites for three years.
Springfield had until recently relied primarily on in-house expertise for the maintenance and support of its networks and server infrastructure.
However, it has now decided to pass all its I.T. work to Knowledge.
In the new arrangement, Springfield’s I.T. staff will transfer to Knowledge but remain dedicated to the group.
The move will provide benefits and cost savings for Springfield as it focuses more closely on its core business activities.
The 220-plus Springfield staff will be able to plug in to Knowledge’s I.T. and networking resources, including 24/7 access to extensive engineering and technical support.
A feature of the new arrangement is that Knowledge will look at other ways to improve Springfield’s use of I.T, including areas where new added-value technologies can be introduced to meet future needs as Springfield’s business grows.
The company recently revealed plans to increase turnover from £80m to more than £120m over five years.
Springfield finance director Mario Fantin said: “Our relationship with Knowledge I.T. is one of trust built up over a long time of working together.”
