The Sage Gatehead
Playing host to the 52nd European Society of Paeditric Research (ESPR) meeting this October, The Sage Gateshead needed to provide full Wi-Fi for all areas where the event was taking place. Running over four days and seeing around 1000 delegates pass through its doors each day, Knowledge I.T was able to successfully deliver the install in under a week.
Working in partnership with The Sage Gateshead since it opened in 2004, Knowledge I.T has gradually facilitated the Wi-Fi capabilities throughout the building, completing with installation in Hall One ahead of the ESPR conference in October.
“Hall One had been designed with such careful attention paid to its acoustics and aethstetics it had always been a difficult area to approach in terms of adding cabling,” said Graeme Richardson, the Project Manager from Knowledge I.T who designed and delivered the project.
Richardson went on to say “When approaching the install it was vital we kept any visual changes to a minimum, installing wire is often the most difficult part of a wireless project”.
Knowledge I.T were also tasked with providing Wi-Fi and wired capabilities for ‘Performance Square’ the outdoor enclosure to the East of the building, a space often used for trade exhibitions which need wired and wireless capabilities for its stands.
Ian Salt, I.T Manager at the Sage Gateshead said: “This was a significant and important investment for us but we knew that by working with Knowledge I.T the installation would be delivered well and would cope with the demands of a large scale e event such as ESPR.”
“Knowledge I.T worked incredibly efficiently to install the Wi-Fi ensure our daytime schedule of events was not interrupted. Meticulous attention to detail was shown from the Knowledge I.T team when designing the project and we’re now looking forward to a busy schedule of events throughout 2012 with this enhanced capability.”
